1. Title: Too far away

Jogeir`s Statement:
It all started very usual, searching for samples, mostly
samples I've already used before, but some new too.
I remember sampling my old technics-keyboard for some of
the leads on this song, brings back a lot of memories. :)
About the song itself, I remember making the various parts
on various days which was kind of "not me", I usually
started a song and finished it within the next 24 hours.

Since many of my "ideas" got released on the net because of
some unthrustworthy friends, I really don't know if you
refer to the module or the xm-version. Either way, the
xm-version was one of my first "pc-multi-channel"-modueles,
a dream to have more than 4 channels in the beginning, but
somehow it was more challenging to compose in 4ch mode.
Many themes in this song, should be called variations 2,
that's what I thought at one time. Instead, I retrieved the
melody-theme from the beginning and somehow got it
"naturally" pasted near the end of the tune, so that people
could recognize the main-theme in the song.

2. Title: Physical Presence

Jogeir`s Statement:
This one is kind of special to me, both since I've never
made any song similar to this, and at the time I had a
girlfriend who was the "always-dancing-in-discos" kind, so
it was a challenge for me musically and also important to
get my girlfriend's approval if you get my drift.

Around the time I composed it, I got accepted as a member of
Virtual Dreams/FLT, and started talking to Dr.Skull on the
phone. This was the old-school way, we called each other,
send diskettes physical (<--there you have it)! and if we
were lucky, we could use someones BBS to upload/download
stuff for our productions. I also remember that I sampled
the organ chords from Haddaway's What Is Love, there of the
name of the demo, "Love". I remember many "critics" said it
was a dupe, it was just like "what is love", which is
ridiculous, at least if you have 2 ears in my opinion.

It's a happy song, not the typical disco-stuff which got
released at the time, it had to be melodious for me
personally, since this was really not my cup-of-tea in the
world of music.

Anyway, it became very popular, I guess mostly because of
the wonderful AGA-demo it was used in, so thanks to...
ourself at Virtual Dreams ;)

3. Title: Hardcore Hubbard Mix

Jogeir`s Statement:
The title says it all really, it's a compilation of Hubbard
classics from the C64. The year was 2000, I was going to
Birmingham for the release-party of "Back In Time 3" where I
contributed on the CD with the first track, "Agent X II", a
cover of Tim Follin's classic.

The tune itself was made for playing at the release-party,
it wa in a disco, and there were gorgeous women dancing to
all the SID-covers at the party, which was kind of strange,
but awesome at the same time.

What I must mention about the song, is the nice guitar-work
by my friend Oeyvind Vik! I remember torturing him a lot
about finishing the tune in a hurry so it could be mixed
properly before leaving for England.

It all ended up with Oeyvind going with me, and we had a
great time the days we were there. For me it was all about
nostalgia of course, meeting my childhood-heroes, and even
Martin Galway bying ME a beer, not the other way around...
Now, that's a memory I will never forget ;)

4. Title: Roses dream

ne7`s Statement:
my number one fave track i ever made was a co-op with my
girlfriend at the time, glittermouse... listening to it now
its the most emotional track i've produced... the intro is
spoken by glittermouse (the whole song is based on a section
of a story she is writing) and she composed around 50% of
the tune as well - so its a real co-op.

not many people heard this as it didnt make it thru
pre-selection at assembly 07... seems it didnt have a
crap-dance vibe and people didnt get it.

5. Title: Swords & Sorcery

ne7`s Statement:
second up is a chiptune (as i'm prob better known for those)
which i feel is one of the best ones i made...
i was in a funny place when i created this track... i had
just quit smoking and had really got into my oldskool
fantasy epic games and movies (see Conan - it was used in
Scoopex n' Chips volume 3... i think i was quite "down" when
i wrote this but it just sounds swashbuckling instead of
sad haha :)

6. Title: Electronaut

ne7`s Statement:
third is the soundtrack to electronaut / triad... this is a
cover of the famous VNV nation song, which i created for the
demo of the same name on the c64 which was based on the
fantastic visuals VNV have on stage when performing live...
i spent a long time squeezing this song into 3 channels -
probably weeks
